INSIGHTS<\/strong>
\nTrans 1,2 Cyclohexanediol is one of the products (together with 1,4 Cyclohexanediol) of the metabolism of Cyclohexane and it is present both in free form and conjugated form (circa 70%) in urine of individuals exposed to Cyclohexane but also Cyclohexanol and Cyclohexanone. In research conducted on individuals exposed to Cyclohexane, the various urinary metabolites were present in the following proportions: Cyclohexanol 0.5%, 1,2 Cyclohexanediol 23.4%, 1,4 Cyclohexanediol 11.3%. The same pattern is found following exposure to Cyclohexanol and Cyclohexanone.<\/p>\n

Principle of the Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The present method determines the trans 1-2 Cyclohexanediol in urine using column chromatography with FID or MS detector after acid hydrolysis of urine and liquid-liquid extraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
