Diethyl-ketone is a colourless liquid used in the laboratory as an organic solvent and in industries as a solvent for paints, glues, tinctures, etc. Absorption of this compound usually happens through the respiratory system and in a minority of cases through the skin and therefore can be irritating to mucous and skin. Its toxic power in the system is very limited. Elevated exposure can cause vertigo, nausea, vomit which are extremely reversible after the exposure has ceased.
