INSIGHTS

Monitoring acrylonitrile and other substances such as butyl acetate,  ethyl acetate, heptane, isobutyl acetate, tetrahydrofuran in urine is highly important for human health because of their toxicity. For example, n-Butyl Acetate is a colourless liquid with a fruity odor. It is widely used for several purposes, for instance in photographic films, nail polish removers,  lacquers, perfumes, oil, and resin. It is on special health hazard substance list.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) defines acrylonitrile as a toxic, colorless to pale-yellow liquid, harmful to the eyes, skin, lungs, and nervous system.

Principle of the Method:

This method allows to determine the Acrylonitrile,Buthylacetate ,Heptane , Ethylacetate, Isobuthylacetate  Tetrahydrofurane urine by GC-MS / headspace.
