INSIGHTS Methyl Acetate, at room temperature, is a volatile and colourless liquid, with a fruity odor. It is a very flammable and irritating compound. It is largely used as solvent for paints, resins and glues, being relatively less toxic than other Chlorine solvents. Principle of the Method: This method allows the determination of methyl acetate urinary GC-FID. The sample is treated with an appropriate solvent and then is directly injected into the GC.
