INSIGHTS

The determination and quantitative analysis of Cortisol and Cortisone in saliva is important as a monitoring of psychophysical stress and as an aid to the diagnosis of Cushing’s disease.

Principle of the  Method:

The method determines the cortisol and cortisone in saliva upon collection of saliva by using suitable devices, followed by centrifugation. The sample is mixed with internal standard solution and clarifycation solution. After centrifugation it is also stabilized before being injected into LC-MS/MS.
