With this video we close the chapter of biogenic amines talking about another
that allows you to analyze the primary metabolites of
Catecholamines, namely:
Vanilmandelic Acid, 5 Hydroxyindolacetic Acid and Homovanillic Acid, to
which we give the name TRIPTYCH.
Also these three markers allow us to make a diagnosis of pheochromocytoma
that we will find in the urine between 72/96 hours after a sudden hypertensive
crisis.
In the video we take as an example an analytical session of

that will help us to check the validity of the
calibration curve and therefore of the entire analytical session.

the peak of Vanilmandelic Acid comes out at 1.98 minutes,
5 Hydroxyindolacetic Acid at 6.1 minutes
and finally Homovanillic Acid at 8.94 minutes.
This is the chromatogram typical of high control where you see that
Vanilmandelic Acid comes out at 1.97 minutes,
5 Hydroxyindolacetic Acid at 6.09 minutes
and Homovanillic Acid at 8.91 minutes.
